My Rain 5G is great when it works. Seriously, when it works I get great speeds and I'm so happy. But man, does it drop on you at the worst times.

It's my biggest problem with Rain 5G at the moment. You just don't know when it will let you down. Here by me it'll drop at least a couple of times a day. And if you are gaming online then it means you will get disconnected. And depending on the game you play it means you have lost.

So frustrating.

Have you tried moving the router to another part of the house or possibly moving it outside?

Why is it disconnecting? The router rebooting or latency swings?

What do you mean by drops. The CPE power cycles?
I have the older oud with Q2 yes the 192.168.8.1 dies off can not ping or access it and it reconnts 5g and 4g drop orange red lights on the device.

I haven't had that with the current outdoor CPE so far. Cancel and open another account. Then you get the new one? If they not willing to give you the new one..

No need to go to extreme things are working fine 250 plus 95% of the time and have been in contact with rain.

I have tried the new oud and I could not get good 5g signal.

No Fiber or adsl also have a backup wisp 2mb.

Pic Below new and old oud.

4 drops for me to night with in 2 hours of each other :(

Same here. I had multiple disco's today, confirmed with the other guy in our complex that also has 5G. Can confirm he has had multiple connection drops as well.

I Can't speak for @mrlgm007 on his exact experience, but my disconnects as well as the other guy in our complex have been as follows. Your net just dies, all connectivity is lost. Your windows PC, TV etc will show INTERNET, but you can't browse anything.

Logging into my router shows full 4G and 5G signal bars. Can't ping anything, can't traceroute and no internet-based application or system works EVEN AFTER YOU REBOOT THE ROUTER. Magically it just comes back again.

This has happened multiple times today.

If the last mile connection drops it can't be that part of the service. So why keep changing OUD's (whatever those are supposed to be)

Interesting. Now that you mention it. I had something similar but after loadshedding went up. I had signal and can connect to router but no internet. Had to reboot. Mind you it only happend to me once in last 3 weeks, after loadshedding.

LTE is still king it seems.

Weird how everyone with fibre and 5G complain about reliability, yet my LTE never has problems.

Say what now? My Fibre has been down for a total of 10 minutes the last 3 years. Fibre is very stable in general.

RAIN on the other hand is total kak...

You're obviously not a Frogfoot subscriber in PE or a Metrofibre subscriber in my area

I have to admit that Rain 5G is much much better than the Vodacom fibre I had. Now that was a pain.
