So indoors I'm assuming. You getting good speeds. how far from tower?Nope i got the Huawei CPE Pro 2.
I'm about 800m from the tower. But I live in an apartment third floor which is in my favour. So indoors I'm assuming. You getting good speeds. how far from tower?
Good speeds still. Plenty fast.My results change based on time of day, this was taken now (2pm) around Kenilworth CPT.
Also in an apartment, but like 6th floor, which weirdly seems to be too high actually, not sure.

Late at night, 250mbps could be possible.
So rain sent their technician on Monday with an outdoor router + tower lock = happy days.View attachment 1455045

Yes, I can definitely confirm something has changed. Here in Rustenburg our 5G used to go down when the area in which the tower is, went into loadshedding. For more than a week now this has not been happening.I have it on good authority that Rain have embarked on a mass scale roll out of battery backups at their towers! Really outstanding news! We been up all week at a site that was typically down during load shedding. Speeds have been stellar too which means they transmitting 5G spectrum too!! Game breaker as far as I'm concerned!
Site currently load shedding....
Thanks, I'll have a lookout for this. I got an SMS from Rain yesterday apologising for downtime during shedding due to battery theft. I was a bit surprised at this since we've always been down during shedding and have had to resort to MTN to be able to keep working.I have it on good authority that Rain have embarked on a mass scale roll out of battery backups at their towers! I got the sms too!!! Maybe it's a subtle way they going about advertising their newly acquired battery redundancy. Thanks, I'll have a lookout for this. Ouch, those errors are quite annoying but I guess it happens from time to time on any network. Hopefully it's not the router. And while I'm punting Rain's great product, I've lost signal with a insert sim error message. Seems the sim has failed, which happens from time to time...
Fortunately I have the ear of someone quite high up the Rain food chain, expecting a techie later today or tomorrow to test and replace...

The plot thickens.
