Rain 5G towers down during loadshedding?

My Rain was working all the way when there was loadshedding now two days ago it is down and say sim registration failed. NOTE IT WAS WORKING. I just paid now about R70000.00 for a solar power system to keep my internet business going when loadshedding now my RAIN for I don't know what reason now is not working.

To contact Rain is a mission no number you can dail and there facebook messages is taking forever to get a reply/

Its suppose to be a wireless service. My router is set for 5G and 4G so the 4G should work with loadshedding. So what now?

What backup system I got solar power and like I say the router I have is a 5G and a 4G router so there is a backup. I have the power and the router is the signal that all of a sudden not working like I say it was working with loadshedding now the last two day no signal. ITS RAIN PROBLEM not my power or router. I pay R1000.00 a month now for 6 hours a day no internet then they must bring down my monthly fees
 
I'm in the fortunate position where there 2 towers we can connect to. 1 is shed under block 14 and the other is shed under block 3 so we always have coverage (we fall under block 3)...

The tower in block 14 had battery redundancy and worked through load shedding. I think this was for maybe a week before the batteries were stolen. They haven't been replaced.

We in this predicament due to the mismanagement of the country. Rampant crime, load shedding etc etc etc

3rd world...
 
I think we are in danger of losing sight of who the real culprits are, Eskom, the ANC and their criminal cohorts. We, the rest, are all the victims and we cope the best we can. But coping has a large cost which inevitably gets passed down the value chain to the consumer, who in the end pays more.
 
This is soo disappointing started using Rain yesterday 06/12/22, I was so prepared for load shedding even got my self a backup power. But but Rain 5G network decided to go load shedding on me .

Well I just have to canceling my subscription end of the month..
 
i got my Rain 5G hooked up to the Inverter and Laptop and DSTv. My Rain 5G Doesn't always go down during load shedding

You are probably lucky enough to have a fallback tower that is close enough to you and does not fall under the same grid as you. I'm currently connected to a tower 3.7KM out because the 900m tower has been offline now for over 24hrs. I can use the internet 70% of the time but playing any multiplayer games is a no go since the connection is super unstable with that distance.
 
Nothing more disappointing that seeing those on the cheaper 4g plan chugging along nice during stage 6 because their towers have back up, then theres you with your expensive 5g package offline for 4hrs.

And if Rain provide a fixed wireless service to locked to an address, it would be ethical and honest to warn a potential customer, that the towers servicing you do not have backup power.

Hope you will extent your complaint to MTN and Vodacom, because in some other areas they are also off during LS and thus also need to warn potential customers by your metric.
 
I would not be surprised if the amount of data I had to buy from Vodacom to keep going during loadshedding exceeds my monthly Rain bill. @Willie1966 I think this is what @backstreetboy meant when he said you should have a backup system in place. Fork out another R399 per month for Vodacom LTE to keep you connected during load shedding.

At least recently I discovered that I can get 4G on the other side of the house during loadshedding, but I have yet to experience a load shedding session where that lasts the entire 2 hours and now it's moving the router from the one side of the house to the other between switches. Good to keep me moving and not sitting all day.
