Steam folder on a SSD or Hard drive....
Network connection 10/100 or 1 gig?
Its on a HDD, but I can assure you a HDD can handle more than a 100Mb.
PC had a 1Gb NIC connected to a 1Gb switch.
I downloaded the 100GB RDR2 in 45 minutes, so just Steam.
Of course, could be the JHB depository I am downloading from.

It all depends on the game also but download CSGO or dota that should max out.

I get my full speed on steam before anything else

Scum is probably one of the worst games to download though takes long due to its compression and crap

I know it's not a steam game but Escape From Tarkov takes ages due to its compression lol. The downloads are always fast though.

Hey guys

Please can you have a look at my stats. I read that the lower your dBm the better (closer to zero) but I can't seem to get any decent speds. I've changed my antenna settings and locked frequency to N78 but nada.

Is -64dBm good or bad?

Those are very good stats there. Can you show your antenna screen? Which antenna options did you choose, aside from N78

What speeds are you getting currently (local and international)?

I changed my antenna to option 6 as it produced the lowest dBm value which I thought would increase speeds.

I've attached local and international speedtest and the antenna screen.

When I select N78 in the frequency lock I've noticed that afterwards it still shows as blank, making me uncertain if it saved or not after I clicked apply.

I've also tried to lock the 5G and get the same results as you - it DOES do something though as my router loses the assigned IP and gets a new one. Short of repeating the steps you mentioned above in multiple places in your house i am not sure what more to do - you have great signal so you speeds should be much much higher

Maybe follow this guy's methodology

Thanks for trying to help.

I think I must just suck it up and accept that I'm a victim of the infamous network congestion/tower malfunctions that the only magical "senior engineers" need to fix. I'm 500 meters from the closest tower and I've faced my device directly towards the tower with an optimal antenna configuration.

Also considering where my tower is installed (attached) I doubt I could place it anywhere better.

Your signal stats are very very good.

This was my stats when I took a drive and parked like 30-40m away from the tower. So yeah stats can't get better than that.

So would his issues be congestion? Because LOS isn't an issue, neither is signal strength. Antennae is fixed as well... Seems very odd

The thing is congestion is accompanied by packet loss and increased latency. Mobile network towers is supposed to be managing congestion in a way to provide equal bandwidth to all. Like one user won't be able to hog 700Mbps while the rest only get 1Mbps. I think by design the person hogging the tower will get lower speed once the rest of the users on the tower start using more bandwidth.

It's very odd and I don't know.
