I think the event will be called off then, surely? You know, considering the number of amateurs/newbies who participate.

The event was previously cancelled because the wind speeds were 100km/h at the start line. That is unlikely tomorrow.

Rain was coming down nicely and I enjoyed it until I reallised I left the bottom tap open on one of my rain water tanks.

Luckily I closed it just as the rain passed

Rainfall has been very patchy with this event. During the period up to midnight (Sun 10th) Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) recorded 42mm, while Constantiaberg (Cape Town) recorded 5.5mm. Heavy showers are likely in places for the next 24-36 hours.

This must be the first black southeaster in years. Very rare. The last one I can recall was around 2012/13 and those were very wet winters.
