I'm not sure what you were expecting? Maybe the warning was apocalyptic, but it is a bit unseasonal to have heavy rains and strong winds in March.

Luckily that all ends about 2KM down the line from me. The only ones that pass through here are the diesels bringing that malty goodness from Caledon

Apparently it's an epic Eskom failure.

Some of the WhatsApp community groups are posting updates saying that there are reports of Eskom apparently lost their Firgrove plant. Whole of Helderberg Basin and some areas outside of Helderberg without power.

So now we wait.

The outage is beyond their planned maintenance schedule for today. Eskom lost the Firgrove sub station.

FYI, planned transformer maintenance only takes place in dry weather. They would postpone work on a day like today.

Wow hectic.
Only running my ont and WiFi router on inverter. Batteries are sitting happy at 25.3 volts

Not much rain happening here. Lots of wind. Lots of spitting.
