Isn't it better to finish earlier and so go to sleep sooner?
We got let off half an hr earlier. Thank goodness, I was windsurfing on the N2 all the way back to Somerset West and the rain started as I got here. Nothing much, just a spit for now, but this is the eye of the storm I hope. N2 had tons of wind, hasnt hit SWest yet

Doing a night shift here in the glorious Helderberg. So far this storm's about as exciting as a steak and kidney pie
The loudest noise at the moment is a cargo flight coming in from JHB (ZS-TGN)

I'm not sure what you were expecting? Maybe the warning was apocalyptic, but it is a bit unseasonal to have heavy rains and strong winds in March.

This is a prolonged cold-front, brushing the SW-Cape, and producing many hours of rain, particularly near the mountains. It is the cumulative amount that matters, and will impact dry soils after a long summer. The areas burned by the Franschhoek fire are likely to experience mudslides.

Getting out of bed is lawfully optional on a day like this, right? Full exemption from work etc. Just checking.
