Well needed at this stage. However big or small amounts. No complaints either.
People too easily forget the water shortages. Short term memories.

Drove from Stellies to Willowbridge earlier, and then to Kingsbury Hospital - never seen kaapies keep such distance in traffic before, they must have been ****-scared of all this rain.

Even a driver or two pulling over. And only two crashes!
It is because of a history of multiple catastrophic disasters happening when a drop of water falls on a road in CPT.

We’ve had 40.4mm in the past 24 hours in Eversdal and 43.4mm in Vredekloof. Pressure now rising slowly from 1010.8mb. Guess the rain is over, for now. What a great downpour we’ve had! My water storage tanks are overflowing.

All of last night was just wind and a constant heavy dusting of rain. Most of today was wet too - slept a lot cos of nightshifts, but it was appreciated.
Tonight's been rainy, sometimes heavy. But it seems its tapering off now.

And now it is our turn to sit in the dark.

Still bucketing down here.
Biggest problem for me when we have loadshedding is the mosquitos. Because then the fan doesn't work. I keep forgetting to buy a rechargeable fan!

The rain only stopped around 01:00. I was still awake by then. I know it stopped because one of the kids left a plastic chair outside our window and you know how annoying raindrops on a plastic chair can be, but there was no way I was going to get up to go and move the bloody thing.

Find where they are breeding.

Well, total rainfall was way below predicted - pool didn't even go up noticeably, maybe 1.5cm or so

Waterfalls on Table Mountain should be running nicely. I think a run on the mountain this Saturday is in order...

Rained like hell after 11 last night. Roof above my oldest room also decided to start leaking.

Some infrastructure damage reported:

The SAWS reports quite widespread rain, but the highest totals were mostly close to the mountains, and along the S-Cape coast: https://www.weathersa.co.za/images/data/climate/nr_daily_rai.pdf
Cape Agulhas 78mm, Struisbaai 74mm, Ceres 60mm, Citrusdal 48mm, Swellendam 44mm, etc. Also of note were Tsitsikamma (EC) 25mm, Nieuwoudtville (NC) 13mm.

And perceptibly cooler today, even though forecast was for mid 20s.
Nice for a change!
