Hey listen guys, I know you are all desperate for rain, BUT you DO NOT HAVE TO STEAL OURS! Hail, thunder and lightning belong exclusively to us in the north! :wtf::cry:

its fake news, there is no rain, dams are at 10%, d-day is coming, divert dam inflows.

but seriously, really nice to see such good rain for a change. the lady at the mcdonalds drive-through said she hopes for no rain, her house washes away.. /sigh

Now we just need De Lille to tell us why this rain is actually a bad thing and worsening the "water crisis".

soo, no water in hout bay since yesterday, im at work and i cant take a dump, or get a glass of water to drink.

what should i do? go home / go buy 5 litres of water to drink and flush
what should my employer do to assist me? legally everything!

fudge, this city is crewed !!!

Maybe not A LOT of rain today. But had to move water again from my main water catching tanks to other containers. At least a little bit of extra water to use around the house, yay!

We had 7.5mm on our gauge in Kenilworth. Unfortunately this once-off rain will have negligible effect on plants, unless you have a collection tank and use it for a small patch of garden. For comparison: In the heat and wind of summer in Cape Town, evaporation can be equivalant 10-15mm per day.

More that double that amount fell over the Dwarsberg mountain catchment area, but I doubt if a fraction of that would run off into the reservoirs. Late in November we had 50mm in a big storm, and the dam levels went up by less than 1%.
