There is nowhere else to go on that road ... it's flooded with mud slides when you turn around to go back towards Rooi Els ... Basically stuck if you decide to stop. :(

I know that road. So basically you WILL get stuck anyway as soon as your engine ingests water via the air filter (from the pic it looks to be nearly at that height)

The SAWS reports scattered heavy rainfall during the 24 hours to 8am on Tues 13th:

Highest include Jonkershoek 55mm, Grabouw 41mm, Paarl 40mm, Plettenberg Bay 36mm, etc.

The weather is likely to remain unsettled for the rest of the week, but the next significant rain is likely on Fri 16th (also a trough/cutoff-low).

Yr.no forecasts 51 mm for Friday for Stellenbosch. But they are often optimistic on rain forecasts.

And Thursday is going to be f0kken hot again... can't run AC because Poeskom
 
What's going on with the humidity in CPT these days? It feels like I've moved to Durban....

My theory is that it's related to the La Nina phenomenon, hence the rain in Australia (thinking of all the washed out matches during the T20 World Cup) and the thunderstorms here in CPT earlier this week.

But I'm not sure, does anyone have some concrete ideas?
