I don't know what you guys are doing down there but it is freezing up here....

Unfortunately my pool is no longer that nice colour. 50% of my roof run-off makes it's way to the stormwater system via my pool!! Going to take a full week in early summer to get that sorted.

Power still off across the Overstrand since 1am. Apparently 4 pylons went down and then some scumbags took the opportunity during the outage to steal 300m of cable at 3am. One of them was arrested and the cable recovered, but last word I heard it might be a day or two before power is back up.

So you guys were out before the substation took a bath?
Sjoe...

Do you have to navigate the "pothole" in Hawkins Avenue?

I had a lot of standing water on the way to work this morning, in places it's never been before. Storm water drainage system is under strain.

Every morning and afternoon yes ... can't believe they're taking so long to get it fixed/done. ... and the smell stays on the vehicle

Yep, and latest update just now...

Eskom said its technicians are working hard to restore power to those towns in the Overstrand that are without electricity since early this morning.

Residents are advised to take precautions as it is expected that the power may only be restored by late tomorrow, 15 June 2023. As the repair work progress, a more accurate ETR will be provided.

:crying:

Will this be Pringle Bay as well without power?

50 minutes to travel 10.2km this morning to work, Belgravia road flooded (really bad by Wembley) Kromboom's woolworths intersection blocked off by police cause the water is too deep, was wild, thank goodness for the boat
Yes, the water was pooling up at Leesbeek parkway and Durban road so I imagine there was a lot of chaos getting around as well.
