Dead calm this morning, but freshening berg wind expected soon, with warm daytime temperatures ahead of tomorrow's rain.

Just saw a chopper take off from Newlands, and waterbomb the near vertical lower slopes of Hidding Buttress!

There seemed to be less rain yesterday morning than predictions, but the SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) mountain catchment station recorded an impressive 36mm.

Edit: The SAWS reports widespread modest rain in the 24 hours to 8am on Sun 5th: https://www.weathersa.co.za/images/data/climate/nr_daily_rai.pdf
Highest include Wellington 17mm, Franschhoek 16mm, Paarl 12mm, Jonkershoek 10mm, Kirstenbosch 6mm, etc.

Conditions are likely to remain cool and partly cloudy, with the next rain scheduled for Tues 7th.

Yup plastic, but still can make a dent in your skin if you don't know if it's there.
