Rain and storm for Cpt

how does anybody here decide what to take with them when they leave the house,
I'm torn between looking like im going to climb Everest, and going to the beach,
there is a reason one has a car boot. spare clothes and different scenarios can be packed for, boys scout style just in case - always be prepared..

In winter it’s either cold or cold and wet so dress for the temps and take a rain jacket in case it gets wet
 
Quite scary to see how far behind we are with rainfall in Cape Town this year, I know it's not technically winter yet but still... Last year this time according to my excel sheet (I keep track of rainfall) we had 163mm of rain in Brackenfell, this year the total is 25mm so far.

Really hope it improves and that we get good rainfall, really did not like the 2 minute showers back in 2017 and the no flushing of toilets...
