Recorded 30mm in Kenilworth up to 7pm. Large puddles on lawn for first time in years! Quieter now, main front seems to have passed.

P.S. One of my neighbours says he got stuck in traffic for an hour...

P.P.S. Rainwater tanks full. Mesh trap blocked with leaves, some overflow onto soft soil...

I thought there was going to be flooding, the roads are drying again

Two more fronts on the way. One arrives Wednesday and the other on Thursday. And there is the front expected on Sunday, that is going to mess up the long weekend for some. That is the one I have been watching ... How the various models change their predictions from substantial to weak and back again to significant rains.

And guys, if it does not rain where you are , it does NOT mean there has not been rains somewhere else, and the real importance is rain that falls in the dam catchment areas.

Only Cape Town, or Plett direction as well?

Aunty Helen regarding tomorrow's rainfall

The picture on the left (top in this post) predicts the rain approaching WCape at 8pm tomorrow. However, on the right (bottom in this post) we see that by 11pm the epicentre of the rainfall is again expected to be pushed South, missing the Peninsula and catchment areas. That explains our core water problem.
