The hottest day I experienced was a day in Oudshoorn in 1991. 42 degrees Celsius. My Golf at the time had super effective air conditioning and it took the best part of 20 mins to cool the inside of the car and steering wheel and seats down after it had been standing in the sun for only an hour.

Hectic. Couldn't touch anything when I opened the car lol. Not even sit on my seat.

It was pretty warm on the motorbike leaving Cape Town 4pm today, thank goodness you don't really feel the heat when you're moving. Only gets hot when standing dead still at a red traffic light

They are forecasting a lovely 44C for Calitzdorp on Sunday. Think I'll have to take the family over the Outeniqua mountains to have a lekka braai underneath some doringbome and enjoy the Klein Karoo sunshine.

Couple of years ago was in Oudtshoorn for work. That Sunday the power was out and it was 47 degrees in the dorp. Took a solo motorbike trip into the Hell. Was faaaaarking hot out in the mountains
