Saw on a FB McGregor group a woman was pleading for help for her sister who is stuck in McGregor with a sick kid and cannot get any meds i.e. no pharmacy in the town :(

My dad has a place in Rooi Els and I just spoke to him. They're trapped there, mentioned it might be up to 2 weeks. Lots of holiday makers apparently stuck too. No cell reception so had to go to Betty's Bay. Shops are being emptied too. Not a great situation!

My power was only restored now. Two dudes rocked up in a bakkie, opened the CB box two houses down, flipped two switches and voila. Took them all of 3 minutes to fix the fault.

The fsking breaker box wasn't even locked. Could have flipped the bloody switches myself 36 hours ago.

It's a house, have a great tenant in there for the last few years, I fortunately got the previous clowns who had a horse in the back garden out.

Despite all the damage in Montagu the good news is that the storm has filled the Poortjieskloof Dam dam which has been empty for nine years. The roads in and out of Montagu from the Ashton and Barrydale side are still closed this morning.
