Rain blocking access to certain websites / online services

Hi @PsyMon93, We are currently investigating the matter and would like more information on which sites & services have been affected so in order to better resolve the issue.
People have been reporting it here since Monday. How long before you move from the "gathering information" stage to the "fixing" stage?

Please update us with meaningful information, in particular the timeframe for resolution.

Servers for are on from 22:30 pm to 11:00 am, then we cant connect from 11:00 am to 22:30 pm because online games are bittorrent according to Rain Geniuses

It's ridiculous that at this point @rain_networks is still requesting information on what sites are affected. This is information you should have by now and working on resolving the matter.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one.

Off the top of my head, Wikipedia, some news sites and a forum in Germany are either very, very slow or timeout.

Since rain has been so ineffective in "investigating" their problem I decided to spend a few minutes. Not sure if anyone else has gotten a response more than 'investigating', but I haven't.

So the offending interchange is WIOCC - aka West Indian Ocean Cable Company
The connection makes it to their jhb offices and then die between there and Kenya due to the cable break out there.

So essentially RAIN has not bothered to buy capacity to handle the cable fault and we are just going to be left till WIOCC fix the cable. So the we are investigating has just a been a delay tactic, if their tech can't figure this out then we have a much bigger problem in store for us.

Rain, here's the numbers you haven't been able to find:
WIOCC Johannesburg:
1st Floor, Corner House Leslie Road Retail Park, Cnr. William Nicol & Leslie Road, Fourways Fourways, Johannesburg, 2055
Phone: 011 030 0000

WIOCC Kenya
The Citadel, Muthithi Rd, Westlands, Box 14137-00800, Nairobi, Kenya
+254 202535432

As for where you can buy some redundancy I think your techs should be able to figure that out. I reckon you could pay for it with that R23 billion valuation of yours. (~2023)
