So they advertise 10Mbps for R480 per month. Then they give you 10Mbps download speed. After the first month they only provide 16-20% of the advertised speed. Then they say get external antenna. Well I used the best in the world. Poynting.

I understand "Best effort" but that is a scam to. Say the network is a bit congested (always the excuse) then for me to be getting 10Mbps they need to raise my limit to 40Mbps. That should at least give me 5Mbps. That would be considered BEST EFFORT. You tried at least.

Now you just take 100% of my money and provide 16% service.

Now I have a joke for you RAIN. My town is in the process of getting fiber installed. YEAH. I've seen the prices. As soon as that line cross my house Ima dump you to the curb and so is a lot of the people in my town.

What you on about? I only get errors. Can't do any speedtest!!!! I pay 100% for less than 1% service!

Yeah. Thats so unfair. We should be getting discounts for poor performing days. I would gladly part with 16% of R480. Then I get what I pay for.

Turns out the fibre roll out in my town is just as BS as rain.****. Pre-order for 480, now months later no fibre yet and priced increased to 700 for a 20/10 line. Other major towns are at 425 for a 25mbps line. So once again this town is being scammed and taken for a ride and money taken for poor service.

Cancelled my rain service a while back. The service completely fell over in the last couple of months and the network was unusable. Couldn't even stream at 144p, couldn't even load a funny cat gif after 10 minutes of waiting. It's not worth R480 a month.

Works perfect for me

Its not just about the signal quality. I also noticed that after 00:00 up to 04:00 I get average 24Mbps on the 10Mbps limited package.
This indicates to me that the way they use to limit the users of the R479 package is not functioning.
I downgraded to the R250 package and got over 100Mbps download. Then I upgraded the month after that and got average 25-30Mbps for the first week any time during the day and then back to 0.5.

They got hardware issues.

Finally a rain package that delivers. 5G. Throughout the day I get 100% of what I pay for. Latency is not as advertised, <10ms, even directly to rain speed test. I get average 17ms and 20ms on googles test.
Router is inside the house on the wall closest to the tower that is 580meters away (down the street). Will have to put it outside one of these days to test.

Yeah well. Competition between ISP's here are NULL. Now that rain upgraded me to 5G its way beter than the fibre would have been anyway.

I love that rain has their own speed test server.
Speed test directly to them shows the maximum speed that my 5G can achieve.
The maximum I got was 535 Mbps.
