Rain is ridiculous

Ive been with rain for almost 6 months(Rain one), I've never had good service or network from them. The connection is useless on 4G and 5G until you phone them, suddenly its faster for maybe an hour or two. When we do speedtests we get very low coverage on 4G and 5G. Have moved our router all over the house. The last time i wrote a report on HelloPeter they phoned me back within 5mins and apologized over and over and then confirmed that there is 2 towers close to me. The 1 tower is 5G only and that it is within 3kms from me. The 2nd tower is 4G only and doesnt have back up batteries during loadshedding. They have offered to install a outdoor CPE which i have asked them to go ahead but still nothing and they have mention that they will report to the IT Engineers to come and do site surveys and report back with feedback and still nothing. They don't call you back when they claim they would, I have logged about 5 tickets and each time i get a reference number but no phone call back or reply. They give you the same repeated message on Whattsapp. When you phone they always change the subject. They don't care about customers and only want your money. I don't know of any happy customers. Everyone ive asked has either changed provider or want to. DO NOT get rain if you thinking of getting internet, I really think that It's a scam at this point. We have more downtime on connection than uptime. I have attached photos.

With RAIN, unfortunately, it's either, it works great or it's crap, no in-between.

Wireless broadband are unfortunately very inconsistent and this is across ISP's.

If your budget can swing it, have a look at AXXESS/AFRIHOST uncapped offerings.

I've found them to be the most stable on wireless, but it comes at a cost.

Not a customer, but been through the wringer with them a couple of years ago.

I must add that I've had bad experiences with CELLC Home LTE and MTN Home Internet Uncapped services as well.

The best service I've had was with Axxess (MTN, ironically) and Telkom.
Rock solid both of them.

I'd recommend Telkom only if it's their 2TB prepaid offering.
 
I also just sporadically get Rain, its never consistent and my plants are severely suffering from it. Is there a way to get Rain more consistently without having to move to another area?

Thanks R4ziel for your concern on the weather and sorry about your plants but we are refering to Rain LTE-A and Mobile Data

Mr Vermaak I can agree with you 100%. Its not even a month since I acquired rain and its only trouble. Wifi is so unstable that its not even worth trying to connect to the internet. We are now in the 5th day of constant buffering. They take days to respond to complaints. Yesterday they told me that the tower is down and that they switched me to another tower and the problem shoukd now be resolved Not so. I had to use the 2Gig data to access the internet, and now its almost depleted. Sending me a message to top up is the one thing they not struggling with. I despise rain.

Ok, im laughing now. Tears are rolling down my cheeks. I know the tears are rain related, but Im not sure whether its the water or wifi kind.

Hi there Darren
I feel your pain as I am in the same situation . I actually found your msg while trying to find another provider . Rain are absolutely ridiculous. I have a tower not far from me which is 4G and refuse to change it to 5G . My issue is that my router keeps saying no internet because it wants to run on 5G , I phone in and they tell me to put my router against the windows facing all different directions. I spend more time restarting my router then anything else . The problem is that I stay on a plot so there is no Fibre available . I'm done with all this rain nonsense . Hope you found yourself another provider . Would rather give my money to a provider that actually cares and we all know it is not rain .
