Rain LtE-A Down the drain

Seems Rain has completely gone down the drain since they locked their sim today!
Don't know if the sim lock has anything to do with it BUT
Use to get between 15Mbps and 25 Mbps down , now only 2!!!!!!

A word of caution to all considering switching to the Rain network.

What sort of signal are you getting at the moment?

Rain network now up and running. Even faster then before. KZN was affected including Afrihost mobile data products.

have you tried physically moving the router? My sweet spot in the house became a not so sweet spot after the change, also only getting 4Mbps... then I just moved the router to another room and now back to 25Mbps which I was getting previously....

No moving it doesn't help. Best signal and speed is in original place.

But it is much better at the moment. Not the speed I got previously but not bad at all. Thank you

Spoke too soon. It is bad again. Usually I get DL speed of 40Mbps during day and at night it drops to about 18-20Mbps. Now I'm getting 5-8Mbps download.

This has nothing to do with the signal. Tower congestion or Rain throttling is the only explanation. At least they or afrihost should communicate!!!!!

I have an external antenna pointing straight at the tower, and experience the same slowdown (below 2Mbps) the past two evenings
