RAIN LTE-A: Speedtests

I have a spend limit of R250 ( that is 0 peak data ) so why is it that somedays the internet still works during peak hours on my SIM? Will I be charged for that even though I have the peak limit set to 0?

Yes that sometimes happen. As long as you set your limit to R250 then no you won't be billed

how does RAIN work ?? should i pay for R250 unlimited off peak or what ever it is

If you want uncapped between 23:00 and 6pm then yeah you have to make sure you have the unlimited R250 option enabled. Once that option is enabled your bill will be a minimum of R250 every month if you use the data or not. Setting your spend limit to R250 with the uncapped option added means between 6pm and 11pm you will be capped aka no internet. You can increase your spend limit in increments of R50. So for example setting your spend limit to R300 with the uncapped addon enabled you get uncapped between 11pm and 6pm and get 1GB data between 6pm and 11pm. You can set the spend limit as you wish.

Very handy tip to anyone that want to cancel. The simcard stays active for life. If you don't want to use it anymore just cancel the uncapped addon and set spend limit to zero R0 and the simcard will be capped 24/7 which means you won't pay anything. IF you decide a few months later you want to use it again you just increase the spend limit and the sim will work again. So flexible and it's something that makes Rain pretty unique.

After using RAIN as my primary internet connection at home for about 18 months, I've just removed my RAIN simcard from my router for the last time. 28GB will expire tomorrow as I'm unable to utilise it at these speeds. This is my last speedtest:

I'll be using Vodacom from now on. Currently at 28Mbps download.

Today is also my last day on my Rain fixed LTE. Some Gb to still use. I did not have any real problems with the speed. The VC deal is just a better option for me.
