RAIN LTE-A: Speedtests

For those of you who have terrible speed results on rain, bare in mind, the above results are reflective of an area that is not even officially covered. You need to really try absolutely every position for your devices, even if they seem silly.

You can try and force 2500 TDD (band 41) or 2600TDD (Band 38) both should work. If your router does not support band 38 use band 41 and vice versa. If you forced it an the router accepted the setting but get no service that means the router supports the band but obviously the tower does not have band 38/41 and you are stuck with Band 3 (1800MHz)
I forced it on the 2500 TDD (band 41) and got zero bars but did not get no service on b525

That means it is picking up something but not from the same tower. Probably a tower much much further away.

It has its days when loadshedding is around but it running well

I'm not in a 5G area but took the plunge. External Antenna - High Up facing the closest TowerScreenshot 2020-01-16 at 21.51.35.png

Do u guys think it's worth it to get an external antenna to boost my signal. I got 1bar on 2600mhz TDD (b525) using huawei band tool
Signal stats: RSRP -123, RSRQ -14, RSSI -89
SINR -4

Well at -123dB RSRP you are basically hanging on with the smallest of margins and you will not get good speeds. If you know where the tower is then a second hand xpol 6 pointed in the correct direction will definitely increase signal stats. Since you are using a B525 you are on 2x2 mimo anyways so can't make it worse.

If the tower closer to you have 1800Mhz only and you use 4x4 mimo maybe that can be a better option but don't know you would need to test because congestion is different from tower to tower.

RSRP:-105dBm
SINR:0dB

Edit: To be fair, I have a ton of trees in front of me - the direction where the tower is.

Unable to get anything over 1Mbps since yesterday. Today hardly usable for me in PE

Initially got about 20/20Mbps, but it's deteriorated to 4Mbps down if I'm lucky. Stuck at below 1Mbps for a while now. There support is non existent

Ah ok, last weekend I got around 30mbps down, and this weekend im getting just over 10, I'm hoping this is just a temporary thing. (Also PE)

Not very happy. Just activated it.
