Rain LTE not for gaming

Is it worthwhile to get the unlimited package for R250p/m for gaming?
Yes it is. Rain offers the first 7 days of uncapped for R50 including delivery, so use that window to test latency and download speeds before committing.

No wireless service should ever even be considered for gaming (Games that require low latency that is, which is most of them)
Latency will almost always be an issue, especially in peak times...
Wirless services are just fine for gaming unless you are looking for a ping of below 10ms. I have tried cell c, telkom, rain and vodacom with none of those services giving me a ping of higher than 45ms locally.

you get what you pay for, if you lucky to have fibre, rather get that,

otherwise, enjoy RAIN, as that's the best currently in the market.

Generalising 'rain lte' is bit vague, I have 250pm uncapped with Rain, and my latency seems very consistent day in and day out...
Getting speeds of about 60mbps any time of the day as well..

I normally play Destiny and Neverwinter so it's all overseas servers not sure how rain will handle those.

my ping to local with rain is 60+ ms for everything.. suddenly.
telkom lte is in the 20's

60ms is not good if you are really competitive

If you are "really" competitive you would have Fibre or at the minimum ADSL (I used to get 10-15ms on a 1mbit ADSL connection to CT servers).

Telkom still has the best network of them all. It's the only ISP where I get 170ms to the UK. I get 220ms to UK on Cell C (easily worst LTE network we have).

When I was on adsl I got 200ms locally during peak times so It's very area dependant. My telkom lte got around 35ms from durban to capetown which was nice but uk servers were around 220ms.

not for gaming at the moment unless you live in joburg or cape town otherwise the ping will kill you
I live in durban and used rain about a month ago and my ping to dota 2 Johannesburg servers were around 35ms to 50ms.

guess it depends where you stay then just doing a speedtest in Bloemfontein, getting 60ms

I did a Speedtest with my Telkom SIM and got a ping of 25 almost X3 faster than what I normally get from my Rain Sim

how do you get that .044ms with the command prompt
