RAIN, poor service will be your death!

I wonder what an anchor point is?

anchor point for dual connectivity, which schedules individual PDCP PDUs in the same user-data stream to different RLC instances, possibly on different RATs. In this way, a single UE can simultaneously receive and send data over different radio channels — for example, one NR 5g and one LTE 4g channel — that are connected to different sites. The MAC function is the anchor point for carrier aggregation, which schedules MAC PDUs to each user over a multitude of 4G or 5G carriers.
 
Got my rain sim yesterday only to get no service on the sim it was activated within two hours got an email and sms and even checked on the dashboard and it says my sim is active but inside my modem it say no service and inside the phone it says emergency call only tried contacting rain multiple times only for them to just say I must set the apn to rain and my tower they told me it's up and running there's no issue and it's been over 24hours now and still says no service damn rain supper sucks

Ps : Rain hasn't sorted my network issue since I got the aim last week basically I have a us3less piece of plastic and I'm gona get billed for it

You can ask for credit they will do it. Reminds me must ask for 1 weeks credits for down time. I'm back up and running normally pleased to report.
 
I have an open Ticket with Rain dated back to January ,
I still have issues with a really inconsistent connection and don't even ask about the voip quality .
I have tried getting feedback again on Monday and Wednesday (Yesterday) , But all i was able to get out of the service-desk was that it is still with networks.
So in short trying to get updates or feedback is like pulling teeth.
On the live chats yesterday is was around 160 in the queue and when i got to about 10 i got dropped
On the second attempt i rocked in at 176 at position 15 i got disconnected
3rd Time's the Charm , i finally got through at i think around 16:00 .
On the chats they always promise to get back to you , Either via call or mail ,
that rarely happens for me at-least . It's like you kinda have to lick their @sses for it to happen.

Some day's the speeds are great , most days it's a whole different story , and like i said , voip is a no go for me and it's a really critical part of my tool-set i need,
It either sounds like your talking in a can, a massive delay , dropped call , or staggering\Jittery audio.

The feedback i was able to get 3 weeks ago , was that i am latching onto a tower furthest away ,
What i have been able to see, is that there is 5 towers around me , the closest towers being 541m and 675m away as the crow flies.

The tower i am connecting to is 2+ km's away , The ODU is poll mounted outside on the roof as per instruction from the Technician (That was onsite some weeks ago) and facing the closest tower.

And yes i have tried making some adjustments , moving it around , do manage to pickup other towers from time to time , but then speeds are a guaranteed 10Mbps or lower. Ping's , and latency is down the toilet . and really just a horrible experience ,

My Speeds currently range from 0.25 to +-300Mbps .
Ping's from 18ms to 600+ms

What get's me is i do a lot of remote work , VPN\RDP\SSH etc. whenever there is a kink in the line\connection , i lose connection to where i am connected to , Now with 2FA on some sites , having to re-authenticate every 5 - 15 min it's becoming a real pain in the @ss.

So myself and a lot of my colleagues have now been requested that we continue to work from home during the COVID outbreak ,

Our daily check ins \ Team Huddle sessions are all done VIA MS Teams , and some site's use ZOOM.

At the moment i have mixed feelings about Rain, Some guy's\girls have it good , some don't , really feels like a hit and miss kinda thing, This is just my 5c worth .

ordered and recieved my 5G router on monday. Checked website and I fall in the area for both 4G and 5G but since i recieved it have not been able to connect. Anyone able to reach rain electronically? Cannot call email or webchat them. Useless customer service

Yeah , Good luck with that Brother.
 
So they actually called me yesterday! WOW. They had to bypass the activation screen due to slow speeds and it finally was able to connect to give me a blistering speed of 3mbps. So not going to be using it. Thanks RAIN

Oh and they have made contact via MBB but still terrible customer service
 
Assasin_Zer0, I am about 1500m from where you are, exactly the same problem as you have.

I have yet to get a response from RAIN customer support, I gave up on the chat or phoning them. However, I have sent them a few dozen emails, not having one answer back yet.

They are beyond useless...

LOL i got an email from them Monday stating that they optimized the router remotely ,
I had a look at the settings and i have a few screenshots since January , i dont see any difference in settings between then and now.

So unless they have remotely sent a drone to adjust the actual ODU outside , i cant see what they did .
 
I usually bitch a moan about Rain ...so yesterday their top customer support guy Faiz called me and we discussed my issues over a 20 minute phone call...they called me back after i left a ticket at their support site....magically overnight all my speeds are up and 5g CPE is working like the day they installed it i average 200-250 Mbps and my other complaint upload speed was fixed...Rain can fix things when there on the right program amazing how when things just work there are no complaints.:):thumbsup:
 
Main complaint my UPLOAD speed fixed too i have different use for RAIN than most people

All my RAIN SIM cards are offline and the website shows that I have no devices. Anyone else having this problem? I have sent multiple emails to support but no response since Friday.

Same story for me. I wrote an e-mail to them and (perhaps no connection) the devices then reappeared on the website but still no Internet from the devices.
 
Even if rain staff is working from home they need to get started because I can’t continue like this getting nothing out of a sim that I’m paying every month it’s seriously annoying and I want answers to say what the real reason or problem is With there service I want this fixed

Had the same shizer. Called them up, got some bullshit answer, said fk you in a nice way and cancelled.
