I definitely recommend second hand on places like Carbonite or the usual classifieds, they're usually just a tiny bit scratched up but perform as good as new, and routers don't keep their price well at all, you can usually see MR200's / B315's floating around for R500-800, B525's for R1000-1200 and B618's for R1600-1800. Apart from risk of theft and scams, it's the preferred method imho, I've saved thousands going this route and had to take a hit in the same manner selling mine but that's how it goes. Thanks for the replies.
What other networks can I use the b818 on ? I heard it doesn't work on mtn fixed lte. Is this true ?
I may cancel my rain if a good deal comes. So I want a router that is flexible.
At the moment I have rain off peak and afrihost mtn fixed lte 150gb. Theres 8 of us in the family so I think 2 sims is necessary. I haven't tested them yet. I need to buy the routers. Ideally I'd like 2 b618...or maybe 1 b818. But that would cost me R7000 ! So currently I'm considering 1 b618 for mtn and 1 b525 for rain. I'm also looking for a second hand router. If I dont find one in a day or 2..I'm just going to buy it brand new.
What do you think ?
