Hi, I have a TP-Link Archer MR200 router using a rain SIM.

Does anyone know how to force the band to 38 (2600Mhz)?
Is there any TP-Link band toolbox similar to Huawei routers that could help this procedure?
Or even a link to a script.

afaik TP-Link hasn't even implemented the feature in the core and has been in an ongoing discussion for its inclusion but still no news, I'd be very surprised if some diagnostic tool leaked but for now the Huawei users get to enjoy the band switching benefit and monitoring suites, thankfully I'm not in a situation that needs the band switch on my MR200 but it'd still be nice if anything came up and for everyone else of course.

LTE band switching is so critical, how LTE routers can still be made without that feature is beyond me.

I think my next best option is OpenWrt

The MR600 has beta firmware that allows band selection. Hopefully they will start doing the firmware updates with this feature for the rest of their routers

wow if you can still get the B618 for that price take it, coz the last i check takealot was selling thie b525 for R2300

Belotech import the RTL0030VW from Askey it is the same model as the Cell C router and is Cat 6 and supports Bands 1+3 with carrier aggregation.

Hi all

i have the Huawei 5g All -scenrio CPE - N5368X - i have a problem with the router and the adapter that comes with it, when i try to connect to the wifi it always tells me the password is incorrect - no matter how many times ive changed it or how simple i make it.

Also when i try connecting an ethernet cable to the adapter - my laptop does not pick up the connection, if i plus my laptop inot my neighbours router works fine using same ethernet cable....

my thoughts are the router and adapter are faulty, but rain says its working fine. please can someone help?

Just check ing when you change the password for WiFi you do it for both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz channels?
In terms of PC not picking up Router, does your PC NIC have dhcp set as the method to use to get an IP (as opposed to a static address) ? As a follow up.. What range of IPs is the dhcp on the CPE giving out?

Yes ive changed both passwords and have tried both channels

dhcp is at router level for laptop is automatic

i dont have the range of ip with me but will check when im home

OK so the only thing i can think of is that the Router DHCP range of IPs is too small (maybe its nly giving out 1 or 2 addresses) so your devices cant connect. As for the passwords another check is that your browser autocomplete settings and of course the CAPS lock on keyboard.
 
So it possibly looks like we can finally get our hands on a router in SA that does 2xCA on bands B3+B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28/B38/B40/B41 which is what we technically need for Rain

The Mikrotik Chateau LTE12
