Hi guys,

For the IT tech's on the forum, need some pc advice for beginner!

I want to add an extra 2gb of ram to my pc (basic desktop pc for work), currently I have this in it:

Samsung 4gb 1Rx8 PC3-12800u-11-11-A1 memory stick in it, want to add another 2gb and found this:

http://www.takealot.com/strontium-2gb-1600mhz-ddr3-desktop-memory/PLID34195306

Is it compatible/will work it? If not, which one should I get.. thanks in advance!

Both are DDR3, there should not be an issue.
I cannot find the clock speed for your older stick, the only thing is that your RAM will clock at the slowest speed of all inserted RAM sticks.

EDIT: Sorry, it's in the name. They will both sync at 1600Mhz, so it shouldn't be an issue.

RAM received, works like charm! Ironically its named Strontium but its made by SAMSUNG and is exactly what I needed (1R8 etc)

Be sure to check out the possibility of an upgrade to SSD for work PC...noticed a tangible drop in work frustration among myself and colleague after IT rolled out SSDs as OS drives.

People don't like waiting for PCs when under deadline pressure...
