RAM difference

hey guys,

I'm looking to buy another 1gig of RAM, my current brand is Transcend, if i buy say OCZ or Corsair, will there be a problem in running 2 different brands or that doesn't matter.

any help appreciated.

Its always better to run matched pairs of RAM, however you can run different brands provided the specs are the same eg. PC3200 DDR 400 etc. Also try and have matched timings otherwise the system will run at the speed of the RAM with the lowest timing, which could turn an otherwise good stick of RAM into average.

I agree it's better to have the same RAM. Btw 2 different RAM brands will work together.

It should work without any problems, but a matched pair is usually a good idea. Costs a lot, though
