Following on my earlier post...

What does the following terms means w.r.t. RAM?

1. Registered,
2. Reg with Parity,
3. Fully Buffered,
4. ECC, and
5. The different CLs, i.e. CL3, CL4, etc.

To much and to technical to explain all. Best is to google and learn. If you are not technically inclined it is better to just buy it and use it as recommended for your motherboard.

Those terms have to do with the error-checking the RAM does during use and the others have to do with latency timings(how fast the RAM is gonna respond) of the RAM. You gotta do some research though fella.

Thanks for the link Azrael, the only thing I couldn't find is for CL4, 5, etc. Are these the latency timings, and which are better?

Does anybody know which brand(s) have 4GB dimms, enabling me to put 16GB on a mobo (for a memory-resident OLAP db). I've seen Kingston, but are there any others?
