Ram Tweaking

Hi

Does anyone know of a good program that can tweak my system's RAM a bit? Windows Vista takes more than 500MB leaving me with only 500 left. :( Please if someone knows of a good utility which can boost my RAM a little I would really appreciate it.

I'd be weary of running something like that, especially since Vista is so new people dont know all the ins and outs.

Rather disable more Windows crap by hand...
 
Yeah the process which demands the most memory is the Desktop Windows Manager and surprisingly IE7 takes almost 100MB! :eek:

Yet if I disable the DWM, Windows Aero and other visual effects won't be available.
 
It's a fairly new PC - about 4 months old. If I open the box it's warranty will no longer be valid. Besides, my pockets are a little bit empty right now. ;)

ey? vista takes 500mb ram?:eek:
 
Well on standby it demands about 450MB. With programs like Media Player or IE7 open, it reaches above 500MB. When playing certain games, the usage gets near 800MB. So yeah, it is a BIG resource hog. ;)
