Hi everyone.

Just a quick question:

I currently have two 4GB Ram modules installed in my rig which are 1.5V and was gifted a set of two 8Gb Ram modules that run at 1.35V.

Question is, would I be able to use these 1.35V modules together with the other two?

Many thanks

Rb

Google your motherboard and check if it support the voltages.

Maybe, maybe not. The LV ram might be backward compatible with 1.5V. Also need to check mb.

I would just slot them in and try if it was me.

Thank you everyone :)

Do I set all 4 to 1.35V ?

Before I Chuck them in, I won't blow up something hey?

If doesn't work, upgrade BIOS. Early MSI BIOS revisions had problems with memory compatibility, especially with XMP enabled.

I doubt the 1.5 will run at 1.35V, unless you run them much slower... My MSI Z77-GD65 cannot run my 4+4GB DDR3-2400 sticks above 2133. Could be mobo, could be finicky memory controller on my i5 3570k.

It wold probably be easier to try and run the 1.35V memory at 1.5V.
