This is for everyone that thought the ANC would change after Cyril replaced Zuma. The ANC has never been and will never be run by one person! Zuma along with 85 ANC NEC members together hijacked the country, some in working with him, others by standing idly by and who kept siding with party over state during the votes of no-confidence.

South Africans need to wake up and realise they vote for a party and not a president...

Ramaphosa powerless to stop ANC corruption: analyst

As president Cyril Ramaphosa promises to clamp down on the latest wave of looting and Covidpreneurship, Intellidex analyst Peter Attard Montalto lays out why the ANC likely won't do much to support his efforts.
Yeah, and when his term is ended he is going to tell fellow South africans that he is shocked that there was corruption. He had no idea it was going on all around him.

Its a tricky one to be honest...

The ANC is led by a person, but it in and of itself has been co-opted by this mentality of the committee.
I think if you go dig into their internal constitution you will see Cyril does have power to do some things, but he is hamstrung because everyone is feasting and will abuse processes to drag Cyril down if he gets in the way of that feasting.

What exactly would happen if Cyril goes and lays charges against 1 corrupt ANC cadre? He doesn't need ANC support to do this, except for job security.

Thabo Mbkei 2.0.

Stand on the wrong toes and they will work you out.

Either way, Ramaphosa is either complicit in corruption over the years; powerless or gutless. Or all three. So he won't do anything except expel more hot wind so it looks like he is doing something and the ANC is addressing it.

He would be recalled in about 20 minutes...
Would it be such a terrible thing to be recalled when you laid charges of corruption? He'd have grounds for unfair dismissal with the CCMA.

I think Nelson Mandela and Thabo during his first term were probably the only people to have proper leadership over the ANC, since then its just toothless rules on useless pieces of paper. Corruption and greed has suck its teeth deep within the NEC and divided the party so much that keeping the president title involves bowing to everyone's needs, leaving very little room for any positive change in the organisation. Cyril need make one wrong move and as quick as Zuma shuffled ministers, SA will find Ace to be the next president...

What SA needs is for the ANC to be pushed into that difficult situation where the NEC needs to bow to SA to keep hold of power, the ANC needs to be pushed back into a minority government heavily relying on other parties to make any moves, sadly this will hamper progress but it should hopefully slow down the decline...
