Ramaphosa's big bullet train promises

President Cyril Ramaphosa has been talking about high-speed bullet trains for South Africa since his 2019 State of the Nation Address, and this year he indicated that government finally seems to be making progress on the project.

That being said, there is nothing concrete yet, with the latest development being cabinet's approval of a framework for a high-speed rail (HSR) that will first focus on the Johannesburg to Durban corridor.

Maybe by 2030 they might actually approve the framework - then after that start thinking about doing it.

Will the super fast bullet trains offer free transport? Because with our dead economy, the people will not be able to afford ticket prices,

Ah yes. A high-speed train built by the ANC. Yes please. I can't wait to hop on that. Just gonna get my will in order first.

And the first smartass who says "but the ANC won't actually be building it" is getting a turd in the mail.

Maybe Fikile and Gweezy will believe this. The rest of the 60 million have heard this story too many times before.

What happens when a train going 600 kmph gets to the section of the track where the rails have been stolen?
