I am not sure if everyone is aware but the Rand is currently trading at R8.94 to USD1 , this is an increase of 9% since last week Thursday , so be prepared to pay more ,as most of the distributors have already increased pricing today. We will do a price adjustment on Friday as we have already updated our pricelist for this week which can now be downloaded from our website or from the Product spotlight link below

Now will you do a price adjustment when the rand strengthens?
Good point. Suppliers are quick on the increase and slow on the decrease. They claim to be holding stock bought at the weak exchange rates when asked, but they don't seem to ever hold inventory bought at the strong exchange rates.

Aint that the bloody truth

I cannot speak for others but I personally do the pricelist every Saturday nights(you can find me at the office up until 10pm on every Saturday nights) and do the price adjustments whether up or down , The rand was trading at R8.39 when I did the pricelist on Saturday , check out the previous week’s pricelist and today pricelist , you won’t find any price increases but will be force to do so on over the weekend , the reason for my post is that I tried to order something 10 minutes before I posted , got a quote on Friday now it 9% more , I am just making you aware that other have already increased pricing so beware

Yeah... I'm not pointing this comment at Esquire,
But distributors hold stock and its sitting at the warehouse locally but increase pricing when ROE increases???? Obviously this has an affect on our pockets... much more than what it should be because of this "cheat".

Maybe i should of bought that 2tb at makro , i was waiting for x-mas specials to be cheaper , but not looking good atm

I'm wondering how much effective increase these strikers get after they push the inflation rate up effectively into the double digits??
Maybe it's just me but the only increase i get these days is inflation.

I really hope it goes down again by next month,I want to get a ssd and hdd next month.
Dammit I knew I should have bought it in the begining of this month.

In real terms, they're worse off, even not counting inflation.
Say they're fighting over a 2% gap between demand and offer. While they're on strike they don't get paid. So if they get their demand, it takes 50 times as long as the strike lasted for them to actually make back the wages they lost while on strike. 2 week strike = 2 years behind the curve on total earnings compared to where they would be if they accepted the lower offer without a strike.

The unions are criminally irresponsible for advocating that workers embark on no-work no-pay strikes, merely to flex political muscle.

Mmm, have the prices on your site been updated accordingly as of today? Or will it still be implemented?

*just read the full post.

Will we be able to pick up the items at the price that is advertised on your site? Or once ordered, we will face the true price? Interested, as I wanted to order something during the course of this week.

Since the rand "seems" to be improving very slightly, i wonder if all the IT online stores will be quick to adjust?
