The rand has slumped to its worst level since April 2020, reaching R18.81/$ earlier on Wednesday. Less than a year ago, it was trading below R15.30.

Global markets are jittery ahead of US inflation data, which will give some indication of where rates in the world's largest economy are headed.

The single thing I thank the ANC for, 3 weeks before my USD shares vest.. let the degradation continue...

And this is what a failed state and dead country looks like. R300 to the Dollar now inevitable.
lets be realistic here @rvZA , we aint North Korea, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Or C.A.R, or Venezuela or Cuba.
there are Hellh0les all over the world, some in a 100X worse state than here,

keep some positivity, I know its hard but there is always a positive aspect.

I mean we aint Iraq under Saddam, or Lebanon At the present time.
glass half full,

We need rates increase of more than 100 basis points to curb this.

"The market has already priced in a 25 basis point hike in South African interest rates in May, but Bishop says 50 basis points are possible."

"Adding more pressure on the rand is foreigners selling local bonds - a net R11.4 billion has so far flowed out of the country due to these sales."

Well, I am just going to leave this here by saying that South Africa is not much different from North Korea, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Or C.A.R, or Venezuela or Cuba at this point in time. These are the rankings South Africa is sorted under in any event. Some of these countries, however, are actually better off than SA with more electricity and likely a better economy too due to that. Yes, some of them are at war, but our crime statistics makes up for this with more murders in SA than what some of those countries see during war time.

So, yes, glass half-full, half-empty.

R300 to the Dollar is rvZA being positive.
