Rand Show

The Rand Show will be moved from Nasrec to Gallagher Estate next year. A better move in my opinion. Anyone been to the PTA show this year? What a joke. Paid R35 and got Montana traders!!

The furniture hall was empty. I used to help out with then Relyant Retail group ( Beares, Furniture City, Dial-a-Bed, Lubners, etc. ) and none of them was there this year. The rest of the stalls were selling all crap, ie Montana Traders.

Why not create one International Show a year, ie Rand Show, and make it huge. At Gallagher Estate you have a centralised show.

Cool, used to love the rand show when I was a little kid, my favourite location was the original one, the one opposite wits university.

But I think in the last couple of years it just went downhill, there are now more than enough electronics and home shows, so don't really know where it fits in

Ah the Good old Rand Show...evokes memories of ...well it was an event once upon a time was it not? I even saw cheese once, judged "winner, Rand Show" Wasn't it an aguricultural fair once ?
They should bring it back. Maybe the Vaalies can even judge Cape Wines there.

The Rand Show went down the toilet when they moved it from the Milner Park Showgrounds. Galagher estates will be an even bigger non event. Dont they realise that the traffic in Midrand is a disaster?
It used to be called "the Rand Easter Show" many years back and I suspect it could have been the Rand Agricultural Show... but that was before my time

Well there is a new and much better show planned at Nasrec, Nasrec did not renew the Rand Show contract, I think the Rand Show has become a flea market with cover charge.

The new event is called the Johannesburg Easter Festival, and from what I've seen, they aiming for a nice upmarket family event, lots of entertainment.

Haven't been to the Rand Show in years, I am not to sure them having it in Midrand I don't think that is big enough

Haven't been to either the Rand or Pretoria Show in years, usually just a load of cr@p on display anyway. Have no intention of going anytime soon again either.

The traffic and parking at Gallagher Estate is bad enough to put me off going there. I bet the entrance price will increase too. I have a problem paying an entrance fee to do window shopping.
