My pc just freezes randomly and sometimes i'll run my pc for hours and it won't freeze once but then next time randomly it will freeze again. And it doesn't freeze in just certain applications or on certain spots/time sometimes it will happen while exploring the net sometimes while am watching a movie or playing a game I have tried everything to fix it...
Updated all my drivers Installed and updated anti-virus + firewall updated my windows run memtest for 24 hours no probs found I looked in windows event viewer for probs nothing shows. I have even took my gfx out and run the onboard gfx still same probs and scanned hdd for errors/bad sectors nothing.I also looked at my pc temps while in game no overheating and i don't do overclocking.
I just don't know what to do anymore to fix it. any ideas?

My system specs
OS: Windows 7 ultimate
Anti-virus: Kaspersky Internet security 2010
MB: Asus Crosshair formula 2
Cpu: Athlon X2 5600+
GFX : 2 x 9800gtx sli
HDD: 1tb WD
Ram: 4 gig DDR2 1066
PSU: 800watt gigabyte odin GT

Or download memtester and make a bottable cd-rom...

uninstall antivirus and try again.
my two cents...

It did it even before i installed anti-virus, i installed anti-virus because i wanted to see if it might be a virus or something causing it.
I'll try removing one of my ram modules never thought of that.

Or download memtester and make a bottable cd-rom...
I did that no probs found.

How long did you run memtest for? If it made one full pass you should be good, no need to remove one of the modules. Then your problem is somewhere else. Check your temps, could be that something is overheating, though unlikely given that the freezes even happen while just browsing the net. How old is your PSU, might be a problem coming from that?

Good luck on fixing this and please let us know what the problem was!

I have the exact same problem and have tested just about everything! Only components left to test is the CPU and HDD.

My mom has the same MB as me, so will try testing my components in her pc as to find out whats wrong. Will let you know what my problem was as soon as I find it.
