Alanf85, I suppose you're right, But better late than never. Bringing back the cane wont help. Thats trying to treat a symptom but ignoring the cause.

Bollocks. Parents need to discipline and teach their children civil behavior. That is not the school's job.
The job of the school is to give my child an education and if that means beating seven shades out of your child for disrupting my child's education, well so be it.
