Rape game being played at schools

Just a bunch of bas tards running around practising their future carreers.

Bollocks. Parents need to discipline and teach their children civil behavior. That is not the school's job.

I agree with this statement, but it seems that there is less and less time available to parents to do anything with their children. My wife and I have decided against having children for the time being and one of the reasons are that we know we will not be able to spend the required time with them to raise them correctly. That means they will be getting their morals and principles from a nursery, or school, or some other external institution.

It is unfortunate that in todays society the family is being broken down little by little. It is common place today for both parents to be working full time and only to get home at around 6 or 7 at night, giving you around 2 or 3 hours with your child depending on when you send them to bed. In my opinion this is much too little time in which to raise your child correctly, let alone do the damage that was done during the day.

Yes, parents need to take responsibility for raising their children, but they need support from the education system as this is where children spend the largest part of their time in the younger years. For the education system to be effective though and paradigm shift is required, the balance of "rights" granted in our constitution has become distorted and has swung so far to the childrens side that they are abusing these said "rights".

It is time that the system be re-evaluated and to hand the power back to the teachers and educators and to grant them the necessary power to discipline unruly and mischievous. Yes there are boundries to this, but you can't allow children to run around like animals and have to remind you of their "rights".

With each "right" you claim there is also a responsibility that needs to be taken. For example, you may have a "right" to education but that entails that you actually go to school, sit down, shut up, do your work and study! The "right" to education does not mean that you can do absolutely buggerall until matric and then expect the education department to give you a pass mark so that you can go and stand outside a university and protest until your allowed to enroll.

The job of the school is to give my child an education and if that means beating seven shades out of your child for disrupting my child's education, well so be it.
It would probably be your child causing the trouble.

I agree with the statement that parents should be the first line of defence when it comes to teaching their kids good manners.

It is however very sad that most kids these days come from broken homes where the parents compete with one another for the child's affection during alternate weekends. They then have no will to instill good values in them in what little time they have together.

I remember my mother - who is a teacher at our suburb's primary school -, saying about two years ago that 80% of the kids in her class came from broken homes...:(

You should hear the horror-stories that some of the kids experience at home. It is unbelievable.
