Rapidshare and Iburst

Even with good signal don't expect 1mbs with iBurst.

The few and far between actually get these speeds at anytime other than 12am-6am. Personally my speeds have decreased over time as they've overloaded their network and at this point daytime speeds are lucky to reach 30kBs with 50kBs at 5pm-12am and the actually promised speeds in only those wee hours.

ADSL is 100000x more reliable in every aspect.

Yes, it's faster than 384kb/s, depending on which area you are.

Yes, it gets 64kb/s throttled, but you don't get 20GBs free.

You can still 20GB in a month...

Too late... Contract history.

FWIW.
When iBurst is working and some techy isn't stealing bandwidth (speculating)...
Then iBurst has treated me better than all other (except the possible max of a 4mbs line)...

They over delivered for too long. Yes, over delivered and then took away the over delivery. Like a child I didn't enjoy having my toy taken away... So, I am off to more consistent (and cheaper pastures).

An example... Last December, the long weekends were download heaven (from Rapidshare). I got quite a few educational programs/ for my kids. How much? 70-80GB worth... Then they (between them iBurst and Rapidshare) changed something and suddenly I cannot get squat out of Rapidshare unless I am inside my cap... Skype often-times doesn't login. To name a few that helped me make myself very angry...

iBurst will have to do much to get me back as a customer... The word 'Miracle' comes to mind.

I've tried downloading while throttled, but it's painfully slooooowwwww.

I usually get disconnected, then I have to do it all over again.

The most I've gotten away with is +-700MB not 20GB.

For me it is totally 'unusable' once throttled.
Even receiving e-mail with relatively small attachments takes forever.
Forget about things like Skype calls.
Basically IMO it's only good to get a top-up.

Gee, that's sad...:(

I've been throttled since Saturday. I am waiting for the 1st to be "Recharged/Reloaded".

I am not going to pay R199 for another 1000MB, too expensive.

Right now, I am downloading a 10MB video clip from You Tube, using "Ant.com Toolbar" http://www.ant.com/toolbar

It takes awhile, unless I get disconnected.

When i get throttled its pretty quick... BitTorrents average 8-11 kB/s. Sometime it jumps to 30, which is heaven!!
Could someone confirm the 20GB thing? (I'm on like 15GB at the moment)

Hi all.

Quite a few guys get in the region of 25 to 28 gig on a three gig account.

I have seen this very often. It is also dependant on the quality of your signal.

Lousy signal +-14 gig, great quality = 28 gig.

Error
You want to download the following file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/257266648/CCure.part10.rar | 100431 KB

The download session has expired. Please click here to start the download again.

Possible reasons:

•The download takes to long to be saved.
•For this download, in the background your Internet Service Provider has assigned a new IP address. If you are for example an AOL customer, or use a similar Service Provider, please try to use a different browser.
If this problem persists to exist, you may want to purchase a Premium Account. As Premium users are not checked against their IP address, this problem will not occur. Or your internet connection is too slow to download the complete file within the session time.

hmmm ... ok people

let me conclude here ... I`ve had the same problem since i got my adsl line.

don`t blame RS for that message.

its all to blame on our SA ISP`s, dont ask me why because its a loooong story.

the only resolution to this problem is to use a web proxy.

Here is a huge list of web proxy servers http://proxy.org/cgi_proxies.shtml.

Dont forget to untick "Remove Scripts" option.

Your damn lucky...
I get max 3kb/s (usually between 0.8kb/s and 1.2kb/s) on torrents or about 100MB overnight and 80MB during the day total torrent traffic.
