Rapidshare on Uncapped

Hi,

I have seen many threads commenting on Rapidshare and Shaping

Please can I get comments as to which ISP is best for day and evening downloading on Rapidshare and the likely speeds I could expect downloading from Rapidshare on a 384k ADSL account.

NB: by day and evening I refer to about 8am to 10pm

From experience I have noted the capped accounts from Afrihost and MWEB download fine during the day on my 4Mbit line, its the uncapped accounts that are ****. My guess is any ISP offering uncapped will shape traffic.

What are you are really comparing are shaped(uncapped) and unshaped(capped) accounts. You could always get an unshaped, uncapped product, but obviously at a much higher price.

Since when did capped accounts become automatically unshaped? In the past you always payed extra for an unshaped capped account.

There are organizations who offer bypass servers for this, and it's really inexpensive. For instance, we give our clients access to download torrents and rapidshare on uncapped internet to bypass shaping. Each client gets his/her own virtual server, so it's top notch privacy and nobody shares the same hard drive, each client has his/her own virtual drive. So this is completely possible, a simple search will nudge you in the right direction.

Hotfile, Sharingmatrix and Filesmonster are now shaped the same as Rapidshare. I'm cancelling my MWEB account as I've got a download speed of 12.3kbps (4meg line) on Hotfile since Monday.

Any 'cheap' uncapped account will shape you, think of how much more you'll spend for an unshaped uncapped account- we've got a bypass for the above mentioned and torrents. I really don't think for value for money you should cancel!

But what about after 12am?? Yes they shaped most the day but after 12am it opens up...
