Rapidshare

I cannot download from RS tonight?!?!?!?!?!?!

Anyone getting the same redirecting error?

Strange as I was downloading from RS throughout yesterday right up until now without any problems which makes me think it must be a JHB problem.

cant manage to finish downloading large rapidshare files while im capped. Goes for like an hour or 2 then just stops. anyone else have this prob?

PDonut, do you have a RS premium account or are you using the free downloads?

With the free downloads maybe you are running out of the alloted download time that RS allows.

Are you using a download manager?

There is a download time limit on free downloads as you are alloted a download slot but I'm not sure what the limit is.

I take it this problem only happens to you when you are downloading a large file while capped, or does it happen with all large files whether you are capped or not?

It's ALWAYS a JHB thing, damn u Cape Townians.

It's working now - cool ;)

And guess what? For some funny reason i'm downloading at uncapped speeds ;)!!!!

Must be a JHB thing.....

Ya, while im capped. End up getting like 30 - 50MB then jst cuts out n says its complete. I guess i should try with other sites, see if its not the network or summin.

I wonder what the reason is that iBurst in JHB have not sorted out that proxy server or whatever is causing the problems up there since they've known about it long enough by all the complaints and comments in this forum.

Then again maybe thats the way they want it to be.

If you are using a download manager, you may be able to resume as follows:

Get a fresh rapidshare link for the file. Copy the Link location. In the download manager edit the file properties of the stalled download (usually highlight the file and right click). Some managers allow you to enter a mirror url, most will allow you to edit the file's url. Paste in the new link and your download should resume.

I have done this before with a rapidshare download in the past, but since a few months ago when I tried it didn't make any difference.

Anyone like to confirm, because its a life saver when your download dies at 90% :(

Just tried that but frikken difficult to get a free link that will download in the manager again

This might have something to do with why a download manager won't work with free users:

In case you use a download manager, you should know that changes happened here as well. Those changes only apply for you if you used to insert direct links (http://rapidshare.com/files/837261/635273483/file.zip) in your download manager instead of the normal RapidShare URL (http://rapidshare.com/files/837261/file.zip). There are no download sessions for premium users anymore. To successfully use a download manager of your choice, please follow these steps:

1. Start your download manager
2. Add one or more conventional RapidShare URLs in the download queue.
3. Enter your premium login and password in the given form of your download manager BEFORE you start the download.
4. Start your download

It is important to enter your premium details in the download manager before you start the download. Only this way your program knows about your premium membership and only this way it will tell our server about it as well so we can recognize you.

Yeah, I only downoad with a download manager on my RS prem acc. The only problem is that they add extra bandwidth to you download so you will reach the 25GB limit quicker even thought you havent downloaded 25GB's worth of stuff from RS. :(

Bru we've been thru this a couple of pages back.

People hack the RS accounts and get close to 2000 user names and passwords, then post them onto warez sites! I found my account on the warez site.

Keep on changing ur password every 2-3 days and you will be fine.

Me and my 2 friends download 24/7 of RS and we havent even reached our 25GB limit.

I agree with limnos, if anyone has a premium RS account then change your pwds every few days as it seems no matter how complicated the pwd is it is getting hacked.

Since my last change a day ago it looks like it is secure for maybe another day or 2.

What gets me is why people go to these lengths to hack the accounts when the RS accounts are so cheap to start with.

Exactly! But still, it pisses me off how RS let these ****'s into their systems..

Surely they can jack their security up a little?
