I just downloaded Internet Download Manager v5.09 Build 3 and will give it a try to compare against FG and see which is faster/better, probably only try it tomorrow since I'm busy with other stuff right now.
 
Slightly off topic:

Can anyone tell me where to SAVE Authorization (Login + Password) info in IDM when adding a file from RS.

I know under "Options", "Sites logins" you can save the info, but whenever I want to add a file using RS it asks for "Use Authorization".

In FG I have no problems but IDM does not seem to save the login info unless I'm missing something.
 
I have both FG and IDM installed, but could never get IDM to automatically Authenticate. I'll put in some effort tonight, maybe I just missed something. Will let u know if I find anything.
 
Thanks Trixanno, I thought I was missing something but since you have the same problem I'm beginning to wonder if it's possible.

It's a bad time to do download tests to see which is faster or the same since speeds in general are very slow again today.
Maybe you can tell me if you found any difference between the two programs in regards to download speed.
 
ok found out how, in options you need to go to Site Logins and add the following:

http://rapidshare.com

What I had done before was to enter the premium account URL which does not work.
 
Rapidshare actually recommend IDM in their FAQ.

IDM rocks, the authentication is simple, let me know if u need help.

I always receive speeds of up to 110 with IDM. That's why i guess i get capped in 4 days :(

Thanks limnos, I managed to figure it out as stated in my last post.

In their FAQ they recommend a few managers of which FlashGet is also one of them.
Anyway as soon as my connection gets back to normal "high" speed I'll do a comparison download test from RS between IDM and FG and see if there is any difference.
 
I'm actually seriously considering upgrading to G6. I can't take been capped anymore.

iBurst.co.za won't load.

Is it still R899?

I already purchase 1-2GB every month.. And at R159 per its not worth me staying on the G3 package.
 
Having problems downloading from RS - since last night. An error comes up saying: Service Unavailable.

Is it just me or are u also having problems MrH?
 
Yes RS was fine last night as well as right now, strange thing is my browsing speed is pathetic even though downloads from RS were as fast as normal most the time.

Why do you want to upgrade your account if you have a 3gig package with rapidshare? You could easily do 30 gigs in a month on a 3 gig account.

Can anyone explain how the fark you use their silly willy access code system on free acounts?

The font is HORRIBLE. I can't tell if a damn thing is a letter or number for the life of me and then even when I'm sure I entered it in right it complains it was an invalid code! *cries*
 
Haha, I've also had a bit of trouble lately, but you get used to it. Just watch out for 0 (numeric) and O. If you can even tell the difference there.

I also got one code where I was sure I had entered it right, so I just loaded the link again to get a different code.
 
Oh I wouldn't be complaining if it just happened once or twice.....but without exaduration I can say this would be about my 48-49th try.

I swear Rapidshare just hates my machine...been like this on 2 different browsers and 2 different OSes. *weepyweeps*
 
To solve any problems just buy a Premium account, far faster and no restrictions unless you manage to download 25GB in 5 days then you need to wait 1 day and the process starts over again.:D
