Rapidshare

Why not?.....the premium service is excellent, and it costs very little if you share the account with a few friends.

You can keep torrents and other ways I notice people share here as I can get anything I need from RS, and been in a group we normally get between 100GB to 200Gb per month of software and movies etc.
 
Well the free service is like advertising.

They do a crap job with that so I'd be damned if I was going to support them further. Heh, but either way I wouldn't buy an account. Way too careful with my money.

You've never tried the premium service if you think RS does not work properly, the free service is crippled so don't judge RS from how the free service works.

Find 3 or 4 friends that will share an account with you and it will only set you back a few rand, well worth the money as far as I'm concerned.

So what you are saying is you'll rather struggle the way some of you guys here do with torrents etc which take ages to download?:rolleyes:

For what RS costs it's well worth it as I already said.
 
Heh, oh I don't even begin to struggle.

I have sources other than rapidshare or torrents.
Decent HTTP links aren't hard to find if you know the right ways to look.

Well I cant always find everything on http links, but when you get sites using anti-leech for their downloads instead of rapidshare its great :D

No problem with rapidshare or any of the other hosters though, but I do hate torrents.
 
Basjohn, u dont know what u missing out with RS account. Rather comment when u have used RS the way me and MrH do.

Last month, alone on RS i pulled in 14.5GB. Almost 80% of warez links are linked to RS.com.

And I paid close to nothing for 6 month premium account.

I'd have to agree with Ek, i hate P2P aswell.. I just wish iBurst would up the 64k throttle.

MrH, we should hook up - would love to go thru a HD that has 200GB of data on...
 
I pull close to 30gigs a month WITHOUT Rapidshare.

Regardless though, wouldn't waste my money on it.

My/our RS account is always maxed out close to the 25GB 5 day limit, but thats between 4 of us, then we each have portable drives which we rotate between us.
Needless to say I'm the only one from our small group that has iBurst and contribute the least of the group.:o

Right now my drives have around 20% free space as I ran out of DVDRWs earlier today, so far since Sunday I've burnt 43 DVDRWs and need to go buy more in the morning.

Now you know why I don't bother with torrents and P2P, as well as not been too proud of having/sharing a RS account as I get anything I need or want.:D

There are so many episodes i am dying to get my hands on...

Basjohn, this is the Rapidshare thread. If u not going to use the RS services then dont post here for unnecessary reasons.

I would use the HUB, but no one ever has something that I am interested in downloading. So i rather use my bandwidth towards the 64k...
 
You still get your 64kb to use for anything else while you download from the hub.

But I often have the same problem, especially in Cape Town. Mostly I don't mind getting something from the hub even if I just vaguely want it, its free fast bandwidth :)
 
but wont rapidshare be usless if u only have a 3 gig cap or 5 gig ?
uncapped i see is the stuff
how much is it to join ?
 
You pay for anything from 48 hours to 1 year.. Its in Euros though, 7 Euros for a month. I just use the free service, not many problems.

You can still download after you are capped in any case, just at 64kb :(
 
Not really, you can't have more than one thread going and can't pause downloads.

So you can only use your download manager if you set it to 1 connection only for rapidshare.com, I've actually had better results just using plain FF download manager.

There are plenty of other hosting sites though... some allow pausing downloads etc on their free services.
