Raspberry Pi - Do you own one?

Have one, been lying around since I bought it.

Need to get it a better SD card, the one I popped in was way to slow.

Got mine last week (model B plus case), 1 day after ordering (from Mantech, paid R598 incl courier). Installed XBian and streaming media to my TV from my laptop which has all the media (via Plex). Just received my VC1 licence key and installed it. Still need to test. I'm using a Sandisk 8 MB class 10 card and so far its working pretty well. Love this little PC!

Is anyone using theirs with large 1080p files, e.g. 15GB+ though XBMC? Mine is laggy, would it help purchasing the various decoding licenses?

Please provide the link to that pricing on www.mantech.co.za? Looks like it is R599 (http://www.mantech.co.za/ProductInfo.aspx?Item=330M0060) I assume incl VAT and with no courier or case.

PiFactory has it for R449ex without case. Seems a slightly better deal.

The lag is likely coming from the DTS decoding. You need to offload this or overclock I would say. Make sure you are running the latest raspbmc (if you use it). I have zero issues with lag and all my files are 10-20GB movies. You need the additional codecs for VC-1 if that is what you are playing (or MPEG-2 I think it is) but H264 and DivX / MP4 should work out of the box.

They're MKVs from various sources. My Pi goes straight into the TV via HDMI, I'd imagine the TV cannot do DTS decoding, I'll check.
(latest version of Openelec, Raspbmc didn't play nice with my remote)

I got it at bid or buy:

Pi: http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/94838990/RASPBERRY_PI_DEVELOPMENT_PROTOTYPING_PCB_BOARD_T_512K.html

Case: http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/95878376/RASPBERRY_CASE_ENCLOSURE_BOX.html

I got it all for R598 which included pi for R485 , case for R68 (both VAT incl) and courier for R65. You can also pick up from their premises.

Pretty good price, I reckon, since PiFactory is R449 ex.

So which XBMC would you guys recommend? Raspbmc, Openelec XBMC for RP, or just XBMC for RP?

Had a Pi running Raspbmc for a month or two.. Network port got taken out by lightning though.. Got an ATV after that.

Raspbmc was good though.

I'm running OpenELEC 3.0.1. Only glitch is a problem with some DVD menus, although I believe that's a XBMC 12 thing more than an OpenELEC bug.
