Thanks to this thread I also have many more suppliers that I could contact now in the future, my usual supplier was RS, however they were out of stock

O/T anyone know what happened to the $5 Pi Zero - was it a marketing scheme?

I picked up a whole bunch when I was in Dallas last August, came home with 45 or so in my luggage :-D

At first MicroCenter were selling up to 9 for $5 each, so I got 36 (on four different days), then they ran a special where they were $1 each, but you could only buy one per day, and I managed to get a few more.

Note that the Orange Pi Zero is a very different beast to the Raspberry Pi Zero. Different CPU, different features, etc, etc.

The Orange Pi Zero is actually quite a capable device (built in ethernet, wifi, USB device AND USB host), but not compatible with the RasPi Zero.
