Rats ate my wiring :(

Most motor insurance policies specifically exclude vermin, rats, mice, etc.

No idea why though.
probably because pests are so easy to attract whether they are flies, cockroaches or rats.

Too late :(
I heard them 2 nights back :(

I know not to use poisons as we are very much against harming the bird life and our pets.
I will try traps and peppermint oil as mentioned.
I am also waiting for a reply on a pet friendly rat poison.
a while ago someone told me about a special rat poison.
It kills the rat, but once ingested it is harmless to the animal that eats the rat. Apparently more pricey than regular ratex, but effective

I have got in contact with one of the pest control places and they have a product that is not harmful to animals.
I'm just waiting for final details and then I'll buy whatever I can to sort out the problem once and for all.

Where? I also live opposite an open area.... my cat is good but is getting lazy!

Ever grow supplies a pet friendly paste.
I am picking some up today as they were out of stock yesterday.
I will update this thread with details later.

Last night our internet went down.
Telkom couldn't help so they logged a fault.
I sat there this morning thinking that the cable could have been cut so I checked.
It seems the little feckers have bitten my telephone line as well now :(

I'm seriously going on the offensive this afternoon.
I'm not sure why there is suddenly this issue as I've never had a problem before.
I wonder if it's not maybe a food source that is no longer available causing the rats to search elsewhere.

Could the rats be jealous of your well fed cat ? Try adopting them :D

Unfortunately againts rats, I've had an invasion like this, the only solution is a professional and it might even need to be repeated a few times.

There is currently a rat plague in Gauteng and in the Western Cape, probably country-wide. I am not sure if it is just a seasonal thing or due to the ineptitude of the municipalities (not cleaning up etc).
I can see the rats running along my garden walls at night. It has never been so bad that I can recall.
Thanks for the tips on the eco-friendly rat poisons.

It seems like this is going to cost me fortune.
The mechanic has been busy for 2 days trying to trace all the wires :(

I will burn every single rat with fire :(

Bastards.
