So I got a blackwidow ultimate and the only thing that kills it for me is the lack of dedicated media keys. I thought it wouldn't bother me, but its a bit frustrating having to hit Fn + whatever just to change the volume or mute.

Anyone found a way around this? I have tried creating a macro but this doesn't work. The Fn key is not detected when creating a macro which I find retarded.

Any advice would be great.

Other than this, it is a really awesome keyboard, I can now see all the hype around mechanical keyboards. Can't wait for the G710+ to be released.

I have the Razor Lycosa, and the media keys are so bad, I think you did yourself a favour. They touch sensitive keys, that completely fusk out when you have a little sweat on your fingers (which happens a lot when playing intense games).

I think this is the last time I go for a Razor product. I solved the issue by just using my RAT 5's thumb wheel for volume, and the random red button to change song. only in desperate situations do I use my keyboard :p .

I thought for a second there Makro stores were selling Razer products :)

I don't think there really is a way around this, as the keyboard was designed more for gaming than anything else. However, I am sure there must be a work around there somewhere. I have never tried, as I just use the players controls. Perhaps mapping the fn key to something closer to the media keys?

My BW's Fn + {F5..F8} doesn't bother me anymore, but yes, it would have been awesome to have a one-click media button.
I had a Lycosa (returned due to being bugged) and the media keys were hyper sensitive. Really silly, actually. My laptop's touch keys were way better.

I wanted to try what you said you just did (manage macro profiles) but my BW configurator isn't seeing my keyboard

I guess I will just have to get used to it. Coming from a G15 it feels a bit debilitating, but hey, you can't have it all I guess. Absolutely loving this KB :)

Ahhhhhh I just found a brilliant solution, didn't even think of this. I managed to assign vol up and down and mute to my G13's joystick. Works great.

LoL, doh! I just realised.

/facepalm
