Morning forum,

So I got the Razer Imperator 2012 mouse around mid last year and it worked well till about December. It then started randomly turning itself off and on everynow and then. Some days it would be fine, others it would start doing it every 5 minutes or so (very annoying). So I did the usual things and ruled out all my options:

- Reinstalled windows
- Updated all Drivers
- Updated firmware
- Used it on my laptop and it did the same thing

So its clear its definitely the mouse that has an issue. I took it back to Zaps, where I bought it, and they returned it to their suppliers for 2 weeks and it came back with a piece of paper saying the found no fault and it worked fine for them  I took it back and the issues started again, so I emailed zaps back and all they can offer is the same process again.

The issue is weird though because sometimes it turns the mouse off and it'll then turn my keyboard off and on and then my sound volume will drop for a bit and I'll have to sit unplugging and replugging in my mouse and keyboard till they start working...or just restart my pc.

I did some research on Google and apparently Razer products have often had this issue? Has anyone else experienced something similar with a Razer product that could share some light as to why it is like this or what can be done? I mean is it a hardware configuration problem? Is the mouse itself just a piece of sh*t and it's time to move back to my faithful Logitech brand?

Apologies for the long post :o

OMG even i have the same freaking problem ! O_O

OMG i cant believe even you the same freaking problem that i have ! @_@ i though i am the only one ! i have around 5 Razer Products and out of that there are 2 Keyboards : BlackWidow Ultimate , Lycosa . 1 Headset : Razer Carcharias . 1 Mouse : Razer Imperator 2012. and some other stuff... so out of all that only the Keyboards are working great and i am extremely happy with them  :D! but the Headset and the Mouse i am really sad to waste my money on them... :( the headset's left speaker stopped working just after 2 months ! and the mouse starting showing this issue just about the same time the headset did... and being a gamer i am soo irritated and have died may times in game because of this stupid mouse just turning itself off and i had to goo all the way back to reach the CPU rear and plug it out and then again in... X_X just like you before i bought this whole bundle of stuff at once i was a Logitech user , and i never had any problems with them , by now i understood that Razer is a Company which gives more preference to its looks and packaging and less importance to what they are actually meant to do !

i am soo upset with the Headset and mouse ! please anyone who read this please don't buy any other Razer stuff except their Keyboards ! Razer man you suck in making Mouse and Headsets !

Don't even bother with keyboards. I have a friend who has a similar sounding issue with his Razer keyboard >.< and yes I agree, its fracking irritating when you're in the middle of a game and all of a sudden you can't do anything cause things just start turning off. Since this post this morning it was getting so bad, turning off every 2 minutes or so (sometimes taking my keyboard with it) that I said eff it and I went online and just ordered a new Logitech mouse. I will still attempt to take this 1 back but I will never buy another Razer product again.

i agree with you ! me neither gonna buy any product from Razer again. but do you know if it is a Hardware issue or software/firmware issue ?? cant Razer fix this problem with a software/firmware update ? because when it works it works fine even though for 2-5 min ! i feel that Razer can fix this issue with a software/firmware UPDATE if they really go deep and search for the roots of this mouse problem , until then i am just bearing this mouse since i have run out of money spending on all this products

I had the same problem with a Manhattan wireless mouse that would turn itself off.

Have never heard of a wired mouse doing that.

Unfortunately we learn the hard way. Razer sucks. Their aggressive marketing/sponsoring portraying their brand in a false light really irks me.

I was having issues with my freshly bought Razer Lycosa where it's touch sensitive controls would crap it self, and basically open windows media player and keep jumping to the next song, which made my pc unusable.

I figured out that unplugging and plugging the keyboard in fixed that briefly, but after a driver update things are working (for now).

The sad thing is I bought a Cyborg RAT5 mouse along with the Razer Lycosa, and I actually feel like I should have gotten the Cyborg Keyboard instead.

Razer spends too much time designing pretty products. Also, is anyone getting ghosting issues with their Lycosa  ??

Anyway, I have also noticed that all Razer products suck all 500mA from the USB port, which means I have to have my keyboard plugged into it's own USB grouping on my motherboard because otherwise it won't boot :/.

Most of the Lycosa's I sold were plagued by this issue. Probably a 50% return rate if not more...

Yeah also tried 2 different lycosa, they are complete and utter RUBBISH. The keys just stopped working.

STAY AWAY FROM RAZER
