Anyone noticed that Highveld uses the RDS feed to show the name of the song playing and their slogan?
Pretty cool! :)

I noticed their slogan the other day...quite cool.

Much better than the "Education" it's used to show when Highveld was on.

Anyone from SABC Radio on the forum? Tell 5fm to start doing this!

I just wish they would sort out their traffic RDS. My radio automatically tunes into them for the traffic when I'm listening to audio books, and its really annoying to be tuned in and out 3 times then only to hear Jeremy waffling on about something else for 2 minuets before they do the traffic, then play 3 or four adverts before switching it off again. I don't mind listening to the add of the sponsor of the traffic, its all-the other ads that annoy me, and Jeremy waffling on about something else.

I need to switch of the iTraffic, else I can't listen to the cd that was playing, the other day it was on longer than 5 minutes...

will need to look out for this, is it on all the time?

Pretty cool. I saw it on Jacaranda first. 5FM please do this too!

Now Metro has it!!
I thought it was regional stations, seems Metro is the first national station to use it!!
Now 5FM and YFM.

Missed this.

Actually I don't drive the Chery... :D My wife does.
I drive an old beat up Mazda 626.

hehe, my Zune FM transmitter also displays the artist and trackname via RDS... works perfectly except for really long tags (200+ chars) and for tags in russian.. dont know why nobody thought of this before (please correct me if i am wrong on this one).

Never seen the song names displayed here in CT, my radio sometimes changes to Metro for the news, but that's it.

I've seen it, it is pretty cool. Why they didn't start doing this years ago, I don't know.

England has been doing it for Years now. It's old tech.

Very nice feature though
